Manifestation

Manifestation is often spoken of within the early stages of an introspective spiritual journey. It can be liberating to discover, after a lifetime of feeling at the mercy of the world around us and the people in it, that we actually have more power than we ever understood! Manifestation through means of visualisations and mantras etc can be very empowering in raising our self confidence, creating a specific state of mind and making us feel safer and in control for example. By believing something strongly and regularly enough, we can increase the likelihood of it coming into being. Does this always happen? Not always, no. Can we influence certain events? Sometimes, yes, is the short answer. This is a stage which most people move through. We play around with manifestation and then move on to thinking we are getting good at it. Go to far down this route and it reveals itself to be a dead end. This is not advanced spiritual practice; in fact it is very elementary in the bigger scheme of spirituality.

Being safe, confident and in control and getting what we want or think we need, are all properties of the sense of person who we believe ourselves to be. This sense of person feels very real in the early stages of spirituality clarity, but as we progress (certainly through Stages 1 and 2: Who Am I?) this sense of self begins to be investigated and we discover who we truly are, and all of it’s previous desires and preferences which we previously wanted to manifest, begin to lose their importance. Throughout this process, the concept of manifestation, which could only ever be on behalf of a separate sense of person, is grown beyond.

So, manifesting more money, the right man for you, the right job, all of these common desires are only based upon what the self is telling you that it wants. The sense of self is conjured up by the finite mind. It IS the Mind. As we grow beyond the sense of self, the desires disappear.

So the meditations below are for those people at the beginning of their journey. Those looking to find solace and courage in particular, some respite from mind and create a specific state of calm or happiness or the belief that something will happen for example. Give it a try! It will be effective if it is meant for you at this time. When you should grow beyond it, you will know, as it will stop working for you! At this point, please look at the Stage 1 – 3 Courses to progress to a deep insightful level of Reality.

It is a valid stage of progression at the beginning of our journey (and there are indeed many modalities based upon practices such as The Secret and Abraham Hicks etc) but ultimately to really grow spiritually, at an intermediate level, we must learn to lay down anything which we want.
